That’s who I’ve become, but this blog can sometimes be about where I’ve been and who I used to be. So, a little history is in order.

I grew up in a Christian home, religious in the sense that we learned about a god who likes rules and is always keeping score. I have three older sisters who I could not be without. My parents have been married for 46 years (to each other). I have been married for five years to a husband I hope to never be without. I have two children from a previous relationship. They are my life’s work and a good cross-section of it: sort of messy, awkward at times, beautiful to watch, a privilege to steward and inevitably more than I could ever hope for. They are boys and they have not known their father for most of their lives. Before I met my husband I’d been raising them on my own. Sometimes I love to cook, sometimes I just really enjoy eating instead. I workout regularly, I live in the same town where I grew up and I love my church. Serving with a family of volunteers who have a heart for the least and the lost expands and stretches me every day. All these things have contributed to, and continue to help shape, the woman I am today.
